At Neotheory Music, we envision a world where learning music theory on a college level and beyond as a guitar player can be done without forsaking our passion for electric and acoustic guitar. Many institutions require students to learn Music Theory separate from their instrument and often the lessons are taught from the perspective of a piano player. This makes it very challenging for guitar players to transpose the information to their guitar. Our book “Theory on The Fretboard” and our course solves this puzzle for guitar players. ”Theory on The Fretboard is the textbook that can guide guitar players through a college level music theory course, all on their instrument. the book uses a color coded system and diagrams to teach its contents. Students only have to be concerned with the location of the notes and intervals on their instrument. In the course we focus on applying music theory to our playing first, reading and sight reading last. The reason for this logic is similar to the approach of the way babies are taught to speak a language fluently before he/she is taught to read and write.
